Praise God!
Wow! I think we have finally settled down from the Holidays...what month is it now? February!?!
January was an eventful month full of learning and adjusting. Thad has been working on raising our support (in Crusade it is called Ministry Partner Development, MPD for short). We are quite excited to report that as of today, we have 12 current Ministry Partners and roughly 5% of our monthly support raised (10% with pledges!)!! Praise God!! Our hearts are filled with gratitude for the Lord's provision. In all honesty, we were a bit worried for a couple of weeks, wondering if we were really cut out for doing this. But, as our support coach (yes, we have a coach!) reminded us, when we applied to Crusade we each had to write why we felt we were called by God to serve Him full-time, so in our human times of doubt we can read our own words and thoughts just to remind ourselves why we are here. What a blessing that has been, even during our most trusting times! In talking with some friends earlier this week, we were struck again by the wonders and workings God has done in the past year of our lives. Our hope is to highlight many of those happenings for you to read on our website, so keep coming back...you never know what you might find!!
On another note...we have planned our Vision Trip (yes, another Crusade term...we hope to have you up to date on all of the lingo!!). What a Vision Trip entails is mainly the opportunity to meet the people we will be working with, see the town we will be living in, take many pictures to show all of you, as well as to work out some more details about our jobs (mine in particular!), and Thad even has a business meeting to discuss details about new servers for the office. We leave on Monday, February 23 and will return Thursday, March 4. It should be a very rewarding time for us to match faces to all of the voices we have heard over the phone, and more importantly to see first hand how God is working in this ministry. Another exciting venture for us is the opportunity to visit with some friends of ours who are missionaries in London, Jim and Monica Erwin! Our flight home actually leaves out of Paris, France (which is a 5 hour train ride from Kandern and 2 hour train ride from London). So, we are quite excited to spend the last 3 days of our trip in Paris with them!
