The Last Day
Today was a bit shorter on the activity side, but we had some fun anyway!!
This morning, we heard the final sermon in Chuck Swindoll's Revelation series. It was, as usual for Chuck, a very good sermon!
We stopped by the Doulos classroom for a brief visit with everyone. Jana and I were thinking that with the Holiday weekend, that we may not see many people that we knew. How wrong were we? The class was full and we saw a ton of people we knew!! We are planning to go back sometime in the next couple of weeks to not only see people a bit more, but we may have the opportunity to speak to the class about our ministry!
After Church, we ate tacos and burritos for lunch at Taco Delite!! Greasy but very good!!! I highly recommend it. For directions, email me!
For anyone that has not been to the Frisco Bridges park, you are missing out! Next time you are in Frisco, I advise you to go. Again, for directions, contact me!!! If you have time, plan a picnic! If you live there and have not gone... I can't help you!! Just kidding, of course!! Perhaps before you go to your next Rough Rider game, you could plan to eat lunch or dinner at the park, then head to the game!
Thinking that our time with the Geigers was nearing a close, we were a bit bummed, but we had one more stop for the day and Ryan very eager to come along and we were glad they did for more than one reason!
REI baby!!!!
Jana and I have been invited to take part in a fantastic ministry opportunity with David and Terra Monroe. I will tell you more about that later this week, but the short story is that we are going with them and some of the youth from David's Church (Crosspoint Church) to Colorado! Part of the trip will include a hike in the Mountains.
Jana and I will need hiking boots for Germany, so this is a good chance to go ahead and get them, especially for such a good cause. Well, that brings us to REI. First of all, they are running a huge sale for this weekend only, so we got a great deal on some boots!
That is the short version... the long version of the REI experience involves us spending over 2 hours trying on every boot they have!!!
Needless to say, we got the boots we needed for a great price. I love being reminded that God is in the little things, the details that we usually forget about or gloss over. Not this time! Not only did we get a good deal, we had a wonderful person helping us, Mickey! Ryan and Tara were fantastic as well, not only in helping us make some tough decisions but they also just made it fun!!! God gave us some good helpers today!
After that, Jana and I said good-bye to the Geigers and headed toward Fort Worth. We rested the remainder of the day.
My last note for today is that the last thing I did was watch Return of the King before I went to sleep. Wondeful movie!!!!
