MinistryNet: WorldLINC
Breaktime just started but not before we learned about a wonderful tool for effective evangelism and discipleship, WorldLINC. There was about 3 days worth of information packed into an hour lesson!
WorldLINC (http://www.worldlinc.org) is a piece of software (stop me if I get too technical) that receives responses from websites and directs them to appropriate people for follow-up. This may be sending materials about knowing Christ if that is requested, or responding to specific questions, such as "what did Jesus mean when he said 'Father, why have you forsaken me?'" If someone has received Christ, it may be they need to know about a local church or they need materials on their next steps.
This is where evangelistic websites become effective. Proper and timely response is critical to effective internet ministry. As well, it provides tools for quantifying success. How many people received Christ via this site? What were the demographics of people visiting? Answers to those questions and many others help determine whether a site is going in the right direction, needs change or perhaps another site to address certain groups.
My final 2 thoughts about this...
- it is not just for Campus Crusade ministries, but for churches, other organizations, etc.
- it is FREE
Well, I don't know about you, but I am excited to see this thing in action!
Off to dinner!
