Dear family and friends,

While MinistryNet was about technology, the Internet, and one billion Internet users that could be reached, what it really boiled down to is individual relationships, people. As computer people, we forget that sometimes. The refreshing thing about this conference is that was never forgotten. Whether we reach the lost of this world by the Campus ministry on the sidewalks of the University, through chat rooms in the Middle East, or websites in France, what we are talking about is conveying the message of the Gospel on a heart level to individual people.

MinistryNet: Budapest was the first of its kind for Campus Crusade to talk about just that. We shared ideas, successes (what worked), challenges (what didn’t) and in general setup an atmosphere of what could be done. There are sites that are up and running that are being viewed by thousands of people and are seeing hundreds come to know our Lord. A few new sites are about to be launched, even as this is being written. And finally, we heard from many that are inspired to get started on sites of their own to reach their nation. The Technology group in Orlando is currently working on several pieces of software that are available to anyone. This software helps connect visitors to volunteer networks that are setup to answer questions, facilitate discipleship, take prayer requests, along with many other features.

There are already sites up and running that do all of these things. They do not abandon you once you commit to Christ. ConnaitreDieu.com is one such site. Their goal is to have their site, currently in French, translated into 10 languages in the next 5 years and to win 10 million people to Christ in the next 10 years. Once a decision is made, Connaitre Dieu offers an “e-Coach” lead 4 week program called Discovery followed by a 40 day “Basics” program. Finally, with a mentor in a local Church, a “Serving” course is offered. After this training, the next step is to begin evangelizing! Of course, one of the best ways to help is to become an e-Coach and help the next person!

We praise the Lord for His timing, financial provision, and plan to allow me to go to Budapest for MinistryNet. He continues to clarify His vision for my role in Western Europe, and I eagerly look forward to beginning this work in Germany!

Sincerely,
Thad
