Praises

Thank you for your encouragement and prayer! God continues to bring amazing people into our lives!

Prayer Requests

Pray for the completion of our ministry team! For more monthly financial partners and as well people who will commit to pray regulary for us. Also for more opportunities to share with Bible Studies and Sunday School Classes. Pray for our patience and understanding as we trust in the Lord’s timing during this last stretch!
Pray for the Elder board at Christ Chapel Bible Church as they consider supporting us monthly (decision to be made in August).

Pray for Jana
Over the weekend I pulled a muscle in my lower back. While this one incident would not normally be a cause for concern, the fact that this is the 3rd time in the past two months is rather unsettling. I have been rather discouraged lately because I am uncomfortable most of the time, and I can not function as I normally would. Please pray for me as I seek help from a doctor, that the injury is not serious, and the recovery process quick.

US All Staff Conference

Wow! We heard that we would be amazed at the magnitude of the conference, and we were. On returning home, we felt rejuvenated both spiritually and emotionally, but we were exhausted physically! From listening to many gifted speakers, attending topic oriented seminars, reuniting with old friends, and even attending a health fair, we were richly blessed through our time in Fort Collins. The biggest gift given to us while attending the conference was through our eyes. We were given a better perspective on the magnitude of God’s work through Campus Crusade by seeing a gymnasium packed with more than five thousand staff members.

Meeting of the Right Brains

A wonderful opportunity that we were both able to participate in was a meeting for the artistic talents within Crusade. Oil painters, musicians, screen writers, graphic artists, and many other “artsy” people all gathered for a chance to talk about ways we could use our skills more effectively. Plans are underway for an art-in-ministry focused conference to be held this next spring, and we were all encouraged to continue using the skills with which God has uniquely blessed us. Thad was even delighted to be a part of the time, though he was the only non-artistic person at the meeting!

News from Germany

“EveryStudent.com is based upon this faith-filled assumption: if someone truly understands who God is and how to have a relationship with Him – they will want to! ...many in Europe don’t believe they can be straight forward with the Gospel. They think they must be subtle. [Staff are] arranging a test in one of Europe’s most stubborn countries – France. The goal is to give the French a clear presentation of the Gospel and measure their response. We’ll add four articles that clearly present Christ and invite the reader to respond by clicking on one of the three links: I just prayed this prayer, I would like more information, or I have a question. Then we’ll sponsor a major advertisement campaign with Google, bringing thousands of French to those articles. Dan is traveling to Lyon France in early September to work with the head of the French site. Along with lining up this test they will hopefully agree on a good plan to improve the site and make it more effective.”- Dan & May Workman

What are we doing now?

We are continuing to put together our ministry team by talking to people both in group and individual settings. Our hearts overflow with gratitude for the encouragement given to us by you, and we thank you for continuing to pray for us, support us, and being a continual reminder to us of the Lord’s faithfulness.
When we began this process, we had no idea of the time and effort it takes for missionaries to prepare for their ministry. The many life lessons we have learned during this time are immeasurable. While we are preparing our hearts and minds for living in a different culture and language, we are also preparing for smaller everyday changes too. From learning to make homemade tortillas to changing our grocery shopping habits, and most importantly to learning to be good stewards of God’s provisions.
May your days be richly blessed, Thad and Jana
