Saturday Update at EASC

As I sit in the Cafe in the main conference center, I am reflecting upon my time here. Some details are fuzzy, either from jet-lag or a massive volume of information, but the feelings we have about being part of something big in Europe is very clear. Europe is moving forward. Agape Europe is changing to match the road ahead.

The decades past since Agape was created have served a valuable purpose. The word is foundation. The task can seem daunting as we think about the decline of Christianity in Europe. What is the point if all the efforts ultimately have led to a slide backward? That is actually a thought I briefly had while watching a video of the last 40 years. The conclusion? Agape Europe grew from 1 person to over 1200 at this conference, with untold numbers of STINT'ers and volunteers that did not make the conference.

That is a 1200% increase in 40 years. That is significant in that the task is now to reach Europe and take the Gospel to the people of Europe.

Javier Garcia is our new Director of Affairs in Western Europe. In the coming months, many of his words and much of his vision will appear in our letters, on our website and in our general communication. It is exciting to hear him speak, and for many that know me, you know I do not like "rah-rah" speeches and excited vision with no plan. Javier has the vision, the excitement, but, importantly, he has plans.

That is my introduction to our happenings at EASC.

We have seen everyone that we know that serves in Europe and many that do not serve here but have encouraged us in this journey. I have also met with people with whom I will work directly, in Kandern, throughout Europe and Orlando. This has increased my vision for my roll in Western Europe, which is growing!!!

That is all for now. Please continue to pray for us. We have the remainder of today and tomorrow of EASC. We depart from Nottingham Monday and will spend the next week in London and Oxford. There is more to come, so check back soon!
