GTL Conference Has Begun (in Budapest)

The Trainers Training ended Wednesday and the Global Tech Leadership conference has begun. Well, we started yesterday. What do I enjoy most about being in a tech role at Crusade? We start each day with a devotional lead by one of our members. My boss lead yesterday out of Hebrews 11 and 12. The theme was a familiar one to my church, what gets you out of bed in the morning? Very good start!

The first half of our day was working on Strategic Planning. We spent several hours defining that, so it would difficult to shrink that into a paragraph. Basically though, our idea is to figure what our purpose, mission, vision and values are. We had a great brainstorming session that brought out many ideas and much discussion. The main topics were Purpose, Mission and Vision. Today, we will tackle those more and values.

The previous night, we were scheduled to go to a wonderful restaurant about 10 minute walk from the office.. There was a miscommunication about how many people would be going. The reservations were made for 20, we had 10. The owner was a bit distraught as the cook had purchased food to feed 20 people with a fixed menu! We negotiated that they would fix food for the 10 of us and we would return with that group or at least 10 people the next night. The amount of food they prepared would have fed 20 people!!! Would you think with that much food the quality would go down? Not this place!

Other than the actual meetings, we all went to dinner last night to the same restaurant as above. Our small group (including me) from the previous night was so impressed that we took everyone (all 20 from the GTL) last night. I wish I could give you a name in case you ever visit the area, but I have no idea what it was called. I will work on getting that name for you before I leave.
