Update on the Car

We took the car to a mechanic, Marcus, yesterday morning. This is someone my boss recommends and has known since the man was a youth in his town, so we felt pretty good about taking it to him. We heard from Marcus this morning and the news as far as the car is concerned is not great.

In my limited knowledge of cars on this level, here it is in brief: the head gasket is burned through and leaked coolant into the cylinders. Repairs require replacing the head gaskets, flushing the coolant system and refilling it, changing the oil and replacing the thermostat (which we believe caused the whole thing). Marcus put a high side estimate of 1000 euros (roughly $1300) but said it could be less once all is said and done.

That is the bad news.

As my boss said to me this morning, the good news is that God was not surprised by the results. He provides for our needs and will do so in this circumstance as well. We know and believe that.

Thank you for your prayers through this. We will be without our car for the rest of the week, which is not a problem. If you would like to help us cover the cost of the car repair, you can do so online or email us and we can let you know how to do that. Again, we trust the Lord to provide!!
