Sunday Outing

After our first week of language school, we have survived! I did not think I would judging by my energy level on Thursday. Mentally, I was not there. Everything seemed to be over my head in terms of understanding the German. That is always the way it works. You hang on for a bit, then you look up and see the big wave and think "I am in over my head. Where is the boat?" The Lord is smiling (perhaps laughing) at that! Friday was much better. I seemed to understand everything! What a wonderful feeling. I guess riding the wave is more fun.

So, after that tiring week, we are going on an outing today.

Another of our staff is still in town (as nearly everyone else is gone). He was planning to take his youngest son to the 1200th Anniversary of a nearby town. No, I did not add an extra '0'. One-two-zero-zero. They are having a festival today, so we are heading over there to see what it looks like for a town to celebrate its 12th Century.

Schopfheim is only about 15 minutes away. I wish I knew more about it but, alas, the name and location is about it. We take pictures and ask questions.

I will enjoy a brat for you all. Perhaps 2, since there may be a lot of you!

I know you were intending to enjoy a brat which is the German sausage sandwich, but it looked on the page like you were going to enjoy a "brat" which most people would not enjoy! But then you are pretty versatile. I couldn't sleep and started working on the newsletter albums, and just catching up on the reading of your blogs and looking at the photos. My favorites were of the spring festival that Jana attended while you were in Bangkok. So much for now.....
