Fantasy Football
The Kandern office had its first official Fantasy Football (American style) League this year. We had six teams competing for the Championship. It was a fun season to follow football stats, since we could not watch most of the games. The season started off kind of rough for me and a few others. There was much ridicule as we constantly adjusted our teams. Ultimately, the adjustments paid off. We had our playoffs the last couple of weekends.
I had my first playoff against the #3 seed (I finished #2 in the regular season). It was a hard fought game, but in the end, the power of my Cowboy and New England Players proved too much. I moved on to the Championship game.
Meanwhile, our #1 seed was knocked out in round one.
Our Championship weekend started off well for me, but as the weekend progressed, we stayed even, with my opponent keeping a slight edge. I went to bed Monday night thinking I would wake the next morning with a lose and the shame of being beaten by the #4 seed.
As you would be glad to hear, that was not the case. My team pulled out a 2 point victory for the Championship!!!
We look forward to next season, as many in the office that did not join us this year were very interested in our chatter throughout the week about the previous weekend or looking forward to our next matchup. It was a lot of fun, and it felt like a little piece of home!
Now, where are those 2008 draft kits?
