We are thankful for:

~ God for His provision
~ good friends

~ 2 sides of the brain
~ each other
~ Spring arriving
~ our neice, Isabella, turning 6 this month and who we get to see in May

We are praying for:

~ for Jana’s back pain
~ attendees of a recent Dinner Theatre outreach
~ travel to the French Office in Paris for a Financial Systems Training - April 13-20th (Jana’s going too!)
~ the Lord’s continued provision amongst a poor exchange rate

Left Brain (Thad)

Right Brain (Jana)

As I gave my report on Western Europe at our meetings in South Africa, I told everyone that Jana was in New York doing the complete opposite of us. Of course that drew a laugh but as I think about that, I realize that was wrong. While we do not do “the arts”, what we do as technology leadership demands much creativity.

We are trying to meet the demands of our leadership, field staff, and office ministry. The issues and needs we face require a high degree of creativity to solve the current task, as well as looking ahead to serve everyone in the future.

Knowing that many do not understand what I do can be frustrating, but when we implement a solution, we see the impact it has on how people do their ministry, hopefully better. Seeing that they are able to focus more on telling people about Jesus because of what technology can provide, brings me the greatest joy.

How does that relate to the GTL in South Africa? Everyone in the room speaks the same language. We know what we have to do and we are all helping each other do it more effectively. Our job there is to equip everyone to go back to their country encouraged and excited, knowing there is a group of friends that are rooting for the Lord to succeed through people like them and me. It makes the travel worth it every time!

Create excellent work. Inspire. Encourage. Bring joy. These are some of the thoughts I walked away with from my time in New York.

Other benefits were: connecting with Graphic Designers and Artists, discussing how to navigate a “cultural river” that changes constantly, exchanging contact information so we can help each other out, and being in an environment that encouraged deep, biblical based thinking about connecting the Arts and our Faith.

Shelly, pictured with me above, was my roommate in New York and is soon to be a fellow Kanderner artist. She is coming to work directly for the Arts Factory, a local ministry to artists, and also a group who I have enjoyed doing some volunteer work for.

During a recent evangelistic Dinner Theatre headed by the Arts Factory, several pieces of artwork were hung as part of the stage setup with each pertaining to a theme represented in the actual show. Local students and artists were the contributers. (To see some photos of the event, please visit our website)

What an excitement and joy it is to glorify God through our “opposite skills”. We also feel joy because of YOU, for the continued encouragement and support you give regularly!
