Creativity Summit in L.A.

So I mentioned earlier this week that we will be traveling to L.A. at the end of May. We are heading to the Pacific coast for a Creativity Summit for staff within Campus Crusade who are of the Right Brain mentality (or at least dabble in that side of their brain every once in a while).

While there, I will attend the conference and Thad will meet with several people to work on MPD (support raising). We already have planned (or at least plans are underway...) speaking with a Bible Study at my cousin's church, and Thad is also trying to arrange a few other opportunities. If you have family or friends who would be encouraged to hear about Agape Europe or possibly even partner with us in some way, please let us know!! Thad will certainly need some people to keep him company while there...you know, show him some sights (ie...good places for lunch!) around town!!

A short blurb about the Creativity Summit follows with the "Continued Reading" of this post...

Keller - Door

"When one door of happiness closes, another opens; but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one which has been opened for us."

Preparations and Prayer

It has been a while since we last posted, and for good reason. We have been really busy! From preparing our next Newsletter (should be posted in a day or so) to working out details for a scheduled trip to L.A. at the end of May and to even working through the process of setting our departure date, we have kept ourselves fairly occupied as of late.

A couple of things you can pray for right now are:

Preparations for traveling to L.A. - inexpensive plane tickets, figuring out our schedule, getting in contact with several friends, good opportunities for MPD (Support Raising)...I'll post more details about our trip later...

Upcoming talks with Sunday Schools - we have a couple of classes we are trying to arrange times with

For our hearts to be calm - since trying to nail down our departure date, we have both been overwhelmed a bit with the magnitude of things left to be done before we leave. Please pray for our hearts to be calm and for us to immediately hand over our worries to the Lord. We have both been doing better lately, but every now and then "worry" creeps in.

Thank you for your prayers. We will try to do another update soon!

Ministering to Parents of Missionaries

Just a quick note to ask for prayer as Thad and I serve as computer/tech help for a seminar this weekend. Some of you may know Mike and Sally Mathews who lead a ministry called Ministry Parents 2 Ministry Parents. They, along with a pastor from our church, are holding a weekend long seminar for a group of missionaries and their parents to help them with maintaining good relationships while living on opposite sides of the world. This is the first full weekend seminar for the Mathews to hold, and we wanted to ask for prayer for them, the missionaries, and their parents.

We had a similar session during our cross-cultural training in Orlando a year ago...for blog entries on our cross-cultural training, click on the links below:

Could Jesus have walked on ice?

According to a recent study using statistical models, Professor Nof of the University of Florida theorized that Jesus walked on ice, not water as scripture says. What am I to do with that?
