Lots of Travel

So the past few weekends have been filled with travel. All were quite exciting, but we are pretty tired after moving around so much.

First we had our Agape Office retreat in Toodtmus (I think I'm doubling the wrong vowel in that word). It was a good chance for connecting with our co-workers and having fun together. A game of three legged soccer was a nice highlight of our time.

We then met up with some friends in Interlaken, Switzerland. Two couples from our church in Fort Worth were here for a couple of weeks, and the men were running a marathon in Interlaken one Saturday. The finish was backdropped by the Swiss Alps, so I was a little distracted from watching the race! If you haven't been to the Alps (amazing, gorgeous, and every other wonderful description you can think of), add it to the top of your travel list. The photos we have just barely give you a glimpse.

Thad travels to India at the beginning of October (wow that is coming up soon!!) and in order to go, he needed to obtain an entrance visa. The only place to do so in Germany (for us at least) was in Munich, so we spent a day there. After waiting in line for about an hour, Thad turned in his application, and they said to come back around 4:30. So, we toured around a bit. We ate a yummy breakfast in what had to be the Rodeo drive of Munich. After sitting down and placing our order, we looked up to see Georgio Armani and other such stores across the street. Later on, I was quite excited to find Butternut Squash at a street market, so I bought a couple to take home. We also encountered a fun little spice store that sold 'chile con carne', 'chipotle chile', 'american barbecue', and many other spice selections.

Our 8 year anniversary was last week, and we celebrated it by spending a day in Rothenburg, Germany (that's the place that has all of the Christmas shops...lovely and quite cute!).

Some photos of our recent travels are now up on our Picasa page. Seeing so many beautiful places has been a rather humbling experience for me. There have been many times when I find myself standing and staring in amazement...at people, at buildings, and definitely at nature. Wow.
